Harrogate CAB nominated for Social Policy Oscars

We are happy to announce that the Harrogate CAB has been shortlisted for the 2011 Social Policy Oscars.

Our nomination is within the Best report or publication category for our work on the cost of school uniforms and school trips. – The report was written by Kaz Mills from our bureau.

The winners will be announced at 9pm on Wednesday 14 September at the annual conference in York.

Race Night Thanks

Harrogate CAB would like to thank everyone who joined us at our race night on 5th August, especially the Harrogate Sygnets who organised the evening.

We are really please to have raised £1,250 on the night which will go towards our new building fund.

Race Night and Hot Supper!

The Harrogate ‘Sygnets’ are holding a ‘Race Night and Hot Supper’ on Friday 5th August at 7.30pm at the Masonic Hall, Harrogate in aid of the Harrogate Citizens Advice Bureau New Building Fund. (Tables of 8 are available.) Tickets:£15.00. Buy your own Horse or Jockey: £5.00. Prizes for all winning Horses and Jockeys.

Volunteer to work in Harrogate CAB

The majority of advisers are trained volunteers, helping the Citizens Advice service to resolve over 6 million new problems every year.

Harrogate Bureau are currently looking for volunteers for a variety of roles:

  • Trustees with experience of business planning/risk assessment, human resources or social policy
  • supply receptionists.
  • experienced admin workers.
