Bricklink donate bricks to Harrogate CAB – Press release

Bricklink, one of the largest brick factors in the UK, have been instrumental in supplying all the facing brick and blocks to the new offices for the Citizens Advice Bureau in Harrogate.

The Architects, PCP of Harrogate, called Bricklink in to provide their expertise in providing suggestions to the architect of building materials for all the external elevations. After several meetings and discussions the architect, Simon Stallard made his choice of the following facing bricks which were the Wienerberger Oakwood Multi and their Nevada Buff together with Forticrete Yorkstone Textured Blocks. All these materials were to be supplied via Bricklink, who were responsible for getting both manufacturers to provide these by way of a donation. The project is now well under construction and is looking really stunning.

David Monkhouse, Chairman of Bricklink, is very proud that Bricklink have been involved from start to finish on the Citizens Advice Bureau Offices and wishes everyone associated with Harrogate CAB all the very best for the future in their new building.

Forticrete, the UK’s leading manufacturer of decorative concrete blocks, has donated its high performance architectural masonry for the construction of the new headquarters for the Citizens Advice Bureau in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

PCP Architects specified Forticrete’s durable dense concrete masonry in Textured Yorkstone, after agreeing with the client, planning and conservation officers it would not only deliver a maintenance free solution, but also provide an aesthetically pleasing one in that the curved facade would be built stack bonded to mirror/replicate the adjacent Odeon Cinema which is a listed building.

John Lambert, General Manager at Forticrete, commented: “Due to the current difficult economic times, it’s important for local businesses to stick together and help each other out where possible. We had no hesitation in offering our support to such a worthy cause and we’re more than happy to play our part in what I’m sure will be a striking new home for Harrogate Citizens Advice Bureau.”
